Africa is the second largest continent in the world by land mass, covering about 30.3 million km2(11.7 million squaremiles) [Just know its really big]. Africa alone makes up about 20% of the earths land mass and 6% of its total population.

It’s also the 2nd most populous continent on earth, only second to Asia (And that’s because China is in Asia). Africa has a population of 1.216 billion people in 2020, with Nigeria making up about 200 million of those people and coming in as the most populous black nation.

Why is Africa poor

Now that’s an interesting question. The worlds richest continent in terms of natural resources turns out to have the lowest per capital income?

The answer is not so easy, but it can easily be attributed to poor leadership across the continent. Africa’s history also paints a gruesome picture, riddled with slave trade and colonization.

Will Africa be great again?

This is a strong yes. Africa has one of the fastest growing cities in the world. Lagos for example is rated amongst one of the largest and fasted growing cities in the world.
